Miller's Marsh

The southernmost body of water on Beaver Island's west side is Miller's Marsh, named after former Beaver Head Lighthouse Keeper Harrison "Tip" Miller.  This shallow, marshy bog/pond is now contained within a CMU Nature Preserve-to-be. Home to frogs and migratory birds and water fowl, this area also marks the southern end of Doty's Camp Trail, which loops behind Greene's Lake and then divides into a west and an east branch in order to fork both Fox Lake and the Fox Lake Bog; these branches are bridged at their midpoint by the old Fire Tower road.  [ Protecting Millerīs Marsh ]
