• FOURTH OF JULY
  Events start with live music downtown starting at noon followed by the 4th of July Parade down Main Street. Then the kids can have a ball at the annual carnival. The Clyde Fogg Memorial Boat Parade begins at dusk on the harbor. Fireworks over the harbor will follow the boat parade.

• BEAVER ISLAND AIR SHOW
  The Chamber is bringing a B-25 to Beaver Island in June for the 2009 Beaver Island Air Show. The North American B-25 "Mitchell" bombers were the most effective medium bombers of World War II, probably best remembered for the carrier-launched Doolittle Raid against Japan in April of 1942. The Yankee Warrior is the only flying B-25D-35 and one of very few aircraft with documented combat history. For a once in a lifetime experience take a flight on this combat veteran. www.yankeeairmuseum.org

• MUSEUM WEEK
  Discover Beaver Island history with the annual Museum Week full of informative and entertaining events. Music; presentations on nature, Oral History, and Native American culture; and Nature Walks, a Pet Show, and an Art Show.

• BAROQUE ON BEAVER
  Under new sponsorship of the BICAA, the Baroque on Beaver Festival will have more concerts, an expanded Summer Music Camp, and some surprise musical events around the Island!

• HOMECOMING
  Island-wide celebration and time to come together for all Islanders as well as the famous softball tournament. August 7-8, 2009.

• THE FIRST ANNUAL RUN BEAVER ISLAND MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON
  The event is slated to be certified as a Boston Marathon qualifying event. September 5, 2009.

• CELTIC GAMES
  See athletes toss 28# quarter and 56# half weights pitch the 16# sheaf, and the audience favorite, the caber toss, a 150-pound, 18-foot cedar tree balanced and tossed end over end.

• BITE OF BEAVER ISLAND
  See what the best professional and amateur chefs on the Island have to offer - sample a wide variety of treats.

• THE ISLAND BOODLE 5K RUN
  Come and join us for the third annual 5K/Run/Walk starting in scenic St. James and offering a fast, beautiful lakefront-and-trails course.
