| Dick Winnick -- Beaver Island Knife Merchant
One of the craftsmen who set up a table to show his wares over the Fourth was Dick Winnick, who also sharpened any dull blade that happened to be in the pocket of a passerby. Dick knows knifes. When he's away from his home here, he's usual on the show circuit, buying, selling, and restoring new and antique knives. This former barely-death-defying biker is a man of many interests, one of which is the archaeology of Beaver Island. He has dedicatedly searched out many Native American and early settler artifacts, and donated them to the Beaver Island Historical Society. Most recently he brought in a burl bowl of as-yet-undetermined origin; it will soon be on display in the Print Shop Museum
